"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with
God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any
thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the
light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the
darkness comprehended it not."

What I believe
I believe there is only one God and that HE has revealed Himself
through
creation, in scripture and in Christ.
- God is an infinite Spirit, the Creator of all things, yet
personally knowable to those who by His grace possess eternal
life -( Scrip refs: Deut 6:4; I Cor 8:6; Romans 1:19-21; John
5:39; John 1:18; John 4:24; Genesis 1:1; John 17:3 )
I believe In the unity of the Godhead, there are three persons,
the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit who are equal, and yet
distinct, and that God has been this way for eternity (Scrip
refs: Gen 1:26; Matt 28:19; John 1:1-3; 14)
- HE is referred to as God the Father in John 6:27; as the Son
in Matt 28:19 and the Holy Spirit in Acts 5:3-4
I believe that Jesus Christ is not just an Historical figure,
great religious leader, or great teacher, but is God. He does
not merely express the nature of God, nor did He at some point
become God, but actually is God. (John 1:1, I John 5:20) and as
God, Jesus was never created, but has always, and always will
exist. (Micah 5:2, Col 1:16-17)
- I find His presence and activity in the Old Testament as the
Angel of the Lord (Gen 16:7-13) -
He
was born of the virgin Mary in a miraculous manner as none other
can be born
(Is 7:14; Matt 1:18-25,; Luke
1:16-35)
- Jesus was not only God, but after the incarnation He was human
as well, not just partially, but fully.
- He experienced normal human development and temptations just
as all humans do (Luke 2nd chp: vs40; Matt 4:1-11; Heb 2:18)
- In the hypostatic union Christ not only had the divine nature,
but the human nature, apart of the inherent sin of Adam. (Heb
2:14)
- This union enabled Christ to be our perfect mediator (I Tim
2:5, Heb 9:11-28)
I believe The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the
Son. (Matt 28:19; I Cor 12:4-6)... The Spirit was involved in
creation, the incarnation of Christ, inspiration of scripture
and regeneration (Gen 1:2; Matt 1:18-20; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Titus
3:5)
I believe the Bible is the Word of God and consist of the
sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments which are the
canon of scripture (I Thess. 2:13)... I farther believe that the
inspiration of the Bible was a result of verbal (each word
inspirited) Plenary (all scripture fully, and equally inspired)
inspiration....that scripture is the breath of God inspired
through men by the work of the Holy spirit .
- All scripture is infallible and inerrant, and is therefore our
final authority and supreme standard of faith and practice; and
that the power to change lives does not come from human wisdom
or philosophies, but through the Word of God. (Scrip refs: Matt
4:4; 24:15; Rom 15:4; 2 Tim 3:16-17; 2 Pet 1:19-21; John 10:35;
Matt 5:17-20; Titus 1:2; I Thess 2:13; Rom 1:16; Heb 4:12; Matt
28:19-20)
I believe that Salvation is by grace through faith and is in no
way on the basis of human merit or works (Eph 2:8-10, Titus
3:5)... and that this salvation was purchased with the blood of
the perfect Lamb of God, the Lord Jesus Christ (I Peter 1:18-19)
I believe that the Bible clearly proclaims that the salvation of
the believer is eternally secure. We are unable to lose
salvation through our works, just as we were unable to gain it
through works. Salvation is not based on what we do, but on what
Christ has done. (Eph 2:8-9) and we are kept secure through
God's power. (John 6:37-40, 10:27-30; Eph 4:30)
I believe that the church is made up of all those who have
placed their faith and trust in Christ alone for their Salvation
and is one united spiritual body through the Holy Spirit (I Cor
12:12-13)
I believe that the only true basis of Christian fellowship is
Christ's Love, which is greater than any differences we possess.

Cor 13th chapter)
